We are Trevor Parrish on trumpet, Dave Marriott on trombone, Peter Daniel on saxophones, Nelson Bell on sousaphone, Matthew Goodin on drums and Annie Jantzer singing up front.
It looks like a brass band, but it doesn’t quite sound like one. The style comes more from funk, soul and sometimes hip hop, but having a drum and sousaphone core means that the groove comes first—it often drives song forward—and everything else is built on top. Over the years, 45th St Brass has been made up of some of the best horn section players in the northwest. Now the band features the “electrifying vocals” of Annie J up front, giving it a wholly unique sound and broad appeal.
